It’s all such a matter of perception. These ‘neutral’ new fragrances could probably be called: “Creamy Rhubarb Pie” “Spearmint Bubblegum” and we’d be living.
Love the candle detectives 🕵️♂️
🧐
Thanks Kent for giving us your first expressions on these - sure hope they go wide! Appreciate you and Harlow for giving us the re-package info & the investigative work with the ILN numbers! Gotta say some of these candle notes on these make for some great perfumes.
You're so welcome, Lucie!
The repackage committee strikes again! I love it!😄
Yes! The Repackage Committee never rests! 😆
@@TheCandleChannel Thank goodness... Lol...
Matching ILNs on two supposedly different fragrances prove that BBW fragrance notes are something that they manipulate depending on how they think they can best sell it.
YES. Something we have suspected and preaching for so long, but was always refuted by "differences in noses" or "batch variation." I feel that the ILN is finally something that could be considered concrete evidence.
I love this video, thank you so much!
You're so welcome! :)
Appreciate you bulldoging the repackages!!! Such great info. Your descriptions help me to pull and name the scents when I am "nosing" my own candles. In wine tasting were do flights by depth of color. Would love to see a video where you take a scent family and review them from light to heavy. Like variants of berry basil scents or apple spice blends.
If your soy candle leaves a residue along the sides, you can remove it after the wax sets up. Spritz a little dish detergent on paper towel and whipe the inside of the jar, being careful not to touch the candle's wax. Works like a charm.
Love to see you enjoying yr love of candles. You seem so much more in yr element since the last few months. 💙
Aw thank you! 💙
I'm burning the coconut and vetiver candle right now. I like it. :)
I went to Cumberland mall while traveling through Georgia and picked out the tobacco candle. It is totally licorice to me. I noticed it in the store and then remembered you had said it as well so I came back to rewatch. :B I've always wanted a licorice candle weirdly so it's interesting!
I picked out basil and spearmint cause it's so unique and white oak and amber was my favorite. It smells like a great fall scent. I'm staying in a cabin in the woods and I think it goes so well with that vibe!
The neutrals were strange for sure but I love unique candles so I was stoked to finally go to a test store and get some
Thanks, as always, for your excellent info, reviews, and comparisons!!! Sweet Peach & Rhubarb reminds me of Homeworx Farmstand Strawberry… Anyone else???
OMG YES! I was just sniffing this one again yesterday, and I was like wait, this smells just like Farmstand Strawberry.
"Quintessential trash bag peach." I hope someone is writing these down.
😜
i want 2 scents so far!!
💛💛💛💛
I’m late to this video, but it’s very interesting BBW put out a White Oak and Amber when they put out a Golden Oak and Amber a few years back in 2017 I believe. It was fantastic.
I’m interested in smelling these…my store is a test store. The peach/rhubarb and moroccan mint type sounded nice.
Lucky you! Snag some up while they're $13.95.
I just want new and throw!
Well these are most certainly new, don't know if they smell pleasant though lol.
I have the weed Kringle candle 😂❤ I like it .
I'm really interested in Sweet Peach + Rhubarb & Sweet Tobacco & Tonka. Citrus + Warm Ginger sound good as well. I do hope they'll come out nationwide... 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼 Thanks for your reviews/heads up!
P.S.-
I wish they would have brought back Cacao Lavender - Test Lab No. 12 (From 2018) I was one of those idiots that, for some reason, have missed that fabulous candle... 💔💔💔 and I'm not so sure I want to pay some crazy sum of money for it on mercari/eBay etc'. From my sad experience (though I didn't pay much) many time these candles are poorly stored, and then shipped in amateur packaging. I'd rather avoid it as much as I can!
I liked that one too. 😍
Omg yes! I would've loved Lavender Cacao to come back in this collection. Definitely more up my alley.
@@courtneyperkins6683 What's not to like, right... 😋?! Haha...
"Weed" comes from the flower of the plant. Hemp is used in a lot of products we use every day and is usually made from like the other parts of the plant, though some may be from whole plant. It has a significantly lower THC content. There's 3 types of MJ plants, and typically a type of Sativa is used for industrial use. And they can grow huge almost like trees! It's used in beauty products, medicinials, some twine, craft supplies, ect. One of the reasons is that like bamboo, MJ grows a lot faster than trees and is more sustainable. The other reason is the properties in MJ plants are suitable for health applications. Personally I don't think that hemp and the bud smell anything alike either.
Thanks so much for the background!
@@TheCandleChannel no problem! I did a lot of research on it before voting in my state, and I actually found it fascinating how closely linked MJ was to aeromatherapy. The terpenes produced by MJ plants actually share a lot of scent properties as other things that are used in candles, medicines, and beauty products as well. It's actually pretty interesting overall. There was a lot more to the science than I thought there was going to be. Thanks for sharing all these candles! I really want to try that orange and ginger one now
I’m guessing they are bringing back the hemp one to compete with “boutique” candle brands like Boy Smells, which has lots of cannabis scents.
Ahh good point!
Are you physically going to Atlanta or are they shipping these to you and where can I participate?
You have to physically go to Atlanta. Test stores do not ship out candles anymore like they once did long long ago. Locations here! www.candlereviewer.com/blog/bath-and-body-works-test-store-locations
It seems pretty obvious that BBW only creates a few new candle fragrances each year and recycles many more by just giving them new names.
I think B&BW must be trying to compete more with luxury candle brands these days. That's what the packaging and scent names indicate to me at least. Personally, I burn candles for comfort and want to burn familiar scents like peach, lemon, vanilla cake, and pine. I'll pass on notes like hemp and tobacco. What can I say? I'm a basic bitch candle girlie.
I tend to agree. I shop at BBW because I like the fun, cutesy fragrances. Hopefully they continue to offer both. Then again, this collection is a "test" collection so they could very well fail like many of their other attempts at out-of-the-box fragrances.
Where is this test store?
Atlanta. I have an entire post and location list here: www.candlereviewer.com/blog/bath-and-body-works-test-store-locations
Great detective work!
These all sound super weird!
I don't see many of them making it into stores. Besides the basil and spearmint and the sweet tobacco.. those sound like they could sell and I'd personally gravitate towards that
But the rest sound so odd and seem to smell even more odd by your description. I feel like they are branding more and more into a luxury market brand :/
Hahaha. A pot candle 😂. I thought Vivid Emerald smelled like weed. But yeah, hemp is part of the marijuana plant. Lol
Patchouli is really dirty
Eww life inside the page, that former “Queen bee”is still alive? 😂😂
